The root canal treatment begins by identifying and treating the affected tooth. After taking a radiograph the initial and final diagnosis of the tooth that is infected is established. The infected region is evident by a small discoloration of the area that is not normal, and also the presence of infection at the area of the root's apex. After diagnosis the surface of the tooth is prepared to allow access to the root canals. The root canals can be observed from the occlussal surface after preparation of the cavity, so that the affected pulp tissue are removed.

Following this, Endodontic Files are used to extract the pulp tissue from root canals. Endodontics are files that come in different sizes. They are employed according to the size of the canal, as they differ between different teeth and different people. These files are then inserted in the root canals towards the occlusal tip to remove the pulp tissue. Because the root canals aren't always straight, the files can be adjusted to ease the process.

The root canal treatment is to be done on the teeth that are infected. It is evident that there is an infiltration of Enamel and Dentin caries which has spread to the pulp. You can also observe the root apex and the formation and development of abscesses. The pulp tissue is removed from the canals of the root. After that, the canals that are empty are cleansed with disinfectant solutions for irrigation. This will ensure that there is no infection within the canal.

After thoroughly washing the canals with water, gutta-percha point can be put into the empty root canals to replenish the loss of pulp tissue. Gutta-percha points come in different sizes to fill the empty canal. The gutta percha points can be modified by applying pressure to force the gutta-percha points into the canals. They are placed in the root canal by cementing them.

The gutta percha point is placed with water and inserted into the canal. An X-ray scan is performed in order to verify that the points are aligned properly and if there are any gaps. The gutta-percha point must fit properly enough to know, with the utmost certainty, what the final result will look like even after you have completed the procedure. The outcome will be predictable and easy if all of the instruments have been done properly. Next step is to restore the structure of the tooth. A tooth-coloured restoration is preferred by patients who want to preserve their aesthetics. After the root canal treatment is completed the radiograph is taken to prove its effectiveness.
