The root canal treatment starts with the identification. After taking a radiograph the first and most definitive diagnosis of the infected tooth is established. The affected tooth by a mild discoloration of the surrounding teeth and an infection on the apex of the root. The cavity is then prepared on the tooth's surface to allow access to the root canals. After the cavity is prepared the root canals will be seen now on the occlusal surface. This allows for the removal of the pulp tissue that is infected.

The pulp tissue is extracted from root canals by using Endodontic Files. Endodontics files come in different sizes. They are designed to be used based on the width of the canal. These files are then inserted in the root canals at the occlusal ends to eliminate the pulp tissue. Because the root canals aren't always straight, files can be manipulated to make the procedure easier.

The tooth that is infected must be treated using root canal treatment. You can see the infiltration of Enamel and Dentin caries which has reached the pulp. Also, you can observe the root apex and the formation and progression of an abscess. After removing the pulp and the empty canals in the root can be cleaned using disinfectant-irrigating solutions. This is to ensure that no affected tissue remains within the canals which could again cause the infection.

After rinsing the gutta percha point, they are placed in the empty canals of the root to replace any pulp tissue that was removed. The guttapercha points are available in various sizes, meaning that they can completely fill in the root-canal that has been empty. Put the gutta -percha points into the root canal by using cement.

After the canal is filled with the gutta percha points, an Xray is taken to check if the points are in position and weather there is any gaps. It is possible to see what the end result of the gutta-percha process will appear prior to beginning. The point will fit easily if the previous instrumentation was carried out in a correct manner. This will ensure that the end result is reliable and perfect. Once the guttapercha points have been confirmed and the next stage is to place the restoration. It will be replaced by the tooth structure which was removed during cavity preparation. Mainly a tooth coloured restoration is preferred by patients to ensure that the appearance of the tooth can be maintained. Radiographs taken after the last restoration prove the efficacy of the root canal treatment.
